One queen/king will be chosen from each age division. Judging based on facial beauty, personality, poise, and eye contact. Winners will receive a Beautiful Crown, Sash, and a nice award. Future Queens and Kings will receive a tiara/crown, and a nice award

*Queen of Queen/King of King

The one person who refers the most contestants will become our Queen of Queen/King of King. This can be Doubled Crowned. The winner will receive a Beautiful Crown, Sash, and nice award, and A FREE NIGHT STAY AT THE HOTEL ON SATURDAY, MARCH 13.

*Ms. Congeniality

This is the one contestant that exhibits sportsmanship, a fun attitude, and shows the ability of making friends. The winner receives a Beautiful Crown. Sash, & an award. This can be Doubled Crowned.

Admiration Awards

THIS IS A FREE FUN EVENT OPEN TO ALL CONTESTANTS!!

Have the contestant write an Essay of who they admire and look up to the most and why. They can be your Hero for the day!! Please make sure that the person the letter is about comes to crowning if at all possible. Please turn in your letter with your registration. The letter can be a special secret until crowning day if you like.

NATURAL EVENTS

AGE DIVISIONS: (As of day of pageant) Girls: 0-23 months, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-up,

Ms./Mrs. Division Boys: 0-4, 5-up. Talent Age Division: Girls and Boys Divisions Combined: 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-15, 16-up.

There are no deductions for missing teeth, scrapes, bruises, and casts, due to injury. We are looking for a beautiful face, overall appearance and great personality.

Beauty Attire: Girls-Sunday Dress, Gown, or Prom Dress/Party Dress. No-Glitz dresses.

Boys: Sunday Best or Tux

All contestants’ ages 0-23 months must be escorted up on stage by parent or adult.

*Beauty: Contestants can wear flower girl, Sunday best or prom dresses/gowns to compete in Beauty. Boys should wear Tuxedo, Sunday best, or an outfit suitable for a special event. No Semi-Glitz or Full Glitz dresses. **No Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Eyelashes, or Fake Nails are allowed. Under the age of 10, there can be clear lip-gloss, clear mascara, nothing else. For 10 years and older, light make up is allowed. Only what you would wear at school, etc. Light tanning is allowed. It must not be over-done.

*Spokes Model/Interview: Babies will be judged on personality. Contestants will be judged on personality and on stage presence. Contestant will walk up to the microphone and talk about themselves, and asked a few simple questions. This will be done during Beauty.

*Casual Wear: This can be off the rack or custom made clothing that can be worn in school, etc. NO-GLITZ. You can provide your own music. **No Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Eyelashes, or Fake Nails are allowed. Under the age of 10, there can be clear lip-gloss, clear mascara, nothing else. For 10 years and older, light make up is allowed. Only what you would wear at school, etc. Light tanning is allowed. It

must not be over-done.

*Outfit of Choice: This is judged on presentation, personality, overall appearance, fit of outfit, creativity Time limit of 1 ½ minutes on stage. This can be patriotic wear, casual wear, custom casual wear, swimwear, costumes, sportswear, or western wear. No-Glitz ***You may bring you own music.*** Props may be used . Any age can wear make-up for outfit of choice.

*Talent: Five division winners. Contestant must have CD cued and ready at the time of the event. Any age can wear make-up for talent. Any age can wear make-up for talent.

Photo Events

*Natural Photogenic: Photos can be no larger than 8 ½ x 11 and may be black and white or colored. Preferably a headshot. They must be Natural Photos. No fake hair on contestant in photo. No make-up on children under the age of 10. We want to see the natural beauty of the contestant. Please turn in your photos at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the back of the photo. Judges are looking for clarity and photogenic appeal.

*Composite: 4 or more Natural photos on a sheet that is up to 8 ½”x 11 inch. Please turn in your composite at the time of registration. A composite is a collection of your favorite natural photos put into a collage with your child’s name and stats. No fake hair on contestant in photo. No make-up on children under the age of 10. You can put many photos on a composite. Judges are looking for a variety, presentation, and photogenic appeal.

*Portfolio: Please turn in your portfolio at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the back of the portfolio. This has to be Natural photos in book. No fake hair on contestant in photo. No make-up on children under the age of 10. They may be a combination of headshots, full length, black and white, color. Judges are looking for a variety, presentation, and photogenic appeal.

BEAUTY: There will be no line-ups. This is judged on facial beauty, personality, poise/presentation, and eye contact with the judges. Time limit will be 1 ½ minutes on stage. Beauty Winners will receive a Beautiful Crown, Sash, and a Nice Gift. Future Kings and Queens will receive a crown and an award. You can wear the same dress that you wore at the Natural Pageant, or have a different dress. The dress can be glitz (lots of rhinestones on it). You can wear fake hair pieces, nails, eyelashes, make-up if you choose to.

SPOKES MODE/INTERVIEW: This will be judged on personality and on stage presence. This is where the contestant can talk about himself or herself. Time limit of 1 ½ minutes. This is done right after Beauty, so you just line up by the side of the stage after Beauty. This is done in your Beauty attire.

CASUAL WEAR: If you do natural, we will use the score that you got from that. This way you don’t have to change into the outfit again, unless you want to. This can be off the rack or custom made clothing that can be worn in school, etc. You can provide your own music.

OUTFIT OF CHOICE: This is judged on presentation, personality, overall appearance, fit of outfit, creativity Time limit of 1 ½ minutes on stage. This can be patriotic wear, casual wear, custom casual wear, swimwear, costumes, sportswear, or western wear. This can be glitz. ***You may bring you own music.*** Props may be used

TALENT: If you are doing the Natural State, we use that score from Talent.

NATURAL PHOTOGENIC: If you are doing the Natural State, we can use that score from that photo you turn in, or you may turn in an additional photo in to be judged for the semi-glitz pageant. Photos can be no larger than 8 ½ x 11 and may be black and white or colored. Preferably a headshot. They must be Natural Photos. No fake hair on contestant in photo. No make-up on children under the age of 10. We want to see the natural beauty of the contestant. Please turn in your photos at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the back of the photo. Judges are looking for clarity and photogenic appeal.

PORTFOLIO: If you are doing the Natural State, you will get your portfolio back asap, so if you want to change the photos in it you can. Please turn in you portfolio at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the portfolio. You can pick up your portfolio book on Saturday morning by 8:30 a.m., in case you need to change the photos in the book for the semi-glitz pageant. This can be a combination of glitz and natural photos. They may be a combination of headshots, full length, black and white, color. Judges are looking for a variety. This is judged on clarity, photogenic appeal and variety.

COMPOSITE: If you are doing the Natural State, and you want to use that score, just let me know. OR you can turn in a different composite for glitz. 4 or more Natural photos on a sheet that is up to 8 ½”x 11 inch. Please turn in your composite at the time of registration. A composite is a collection of your favorite photos put into a collage with child’s name and stats. You can put many photos on your composite. This can be a combination of glitz and natural photos. Judges are looking for variety, presentation and photogenic appeal.

Rules

FOR SEMI-GLITZ PAGEANT: Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Nails, Fake Eyelashes, are allowed. Make up is allowed.

ALL Money, and Deposits are Non-Refundable If you are unable to attend for any reason, you must let us know within two days before the pageant and your fees will be credited toward the next pageant. No exceptions.

**Please do not ask who is in the pageant. We are not giving that information out.

** Judges Decisions are final!

** Sportsmanship is a must. We have zero tolerance. Parents, guests, vendors who exhibit poor

sportsmanship will be banned from the pageant hotel. If a contestant exhibits poor sportsmanship then they will be disqualified. No fees, ballroom entry, hotel room, or contestant fees will be returned.

** A photographer will be taking on stage photos and a video-ographer will be taking video of the pageant. NO cameras or video equipment allowed in the ballroom.

** A contestant can compete as of their age on the day of the pageant or may move up one age group.

** All contestant information must be accurate. Any misleading or false information may result in disqualification or loss of title. Contestant will then be liable to return any awards received.

** The stage will be a “T” formation with 3 x’s in the back and 1x in the front. The contestants will enter one side of the stage and exit the other side of the stage.

** You must be on time for your event. We will not wait. All events will start on time. Contestants who are late will receive a 1-point deduction from each judge.

** Registration will be Friday, March 12, 4:00-11:00 p.m. Please turn in your photos, composite, and portfolio at this time. Make sure they are all labeled with contestants name and age.

** Contestants’ photos may be used by Shining Stars Pageant Inc. for publicity purposes.

** The Grand Supremes may not compete the following year. The winners may re-compete again in the Shining Stars Pageant system after their year of rein.

** Only family members and friends of contestants may enter the ballroom. For the safety of our contestants door admission badges must be worn by everyone entering the ballroom, including family and friends of the contestant. Door Badges will be available to purchase for everyone entering the ballroom, except the contestant himself/herself, all weekend long.

**Door Admission is $20.00, each contestant will receive 1 Free door badge.

** If paying by pay pal, a 4% surcharge must be added to your payment at diamonship2005@yahoo.com. No money orders or pay pal will be accepted after Feb. 12

**Only Cash is accepted at the door.

**The deadline for entering the national pageant is Feb. 12.

** Crowning will be in Crowning Attire or Beauty Wear.
