Santa Will Be There!!

Santa will show up after competition, while scores are being added.

This is a Natural State Pageant and will be held Aug. 8, 2009 in Grand Rapids, MI. The pageant will be held at the Best Western Hospitality Hotel & Suites, 5500 28th St. SE, Grand Rapids, Mi. 49512. Please call the hotel at (616) 949-8400 if you need to reserve a room. The room rate is $64.99/night. The hotel has an indoor pool, hot tub, and complimentary breakfast. Tell the hotel that you are with the Shining Stars Pageant to get the room rate. Book before July 18. A dressing room will be provided.

*Grand Supreme Winners

Two Supreme Winners will be chosen. One from the 0-6, and one from the 7-up age divisions. The scores will be added up for: Spokes Model/Interview, Beauty, highest on stage event, and highest photo event. The winners will receive a large trophy, Beautiful Crown, Sash, and nice gift.

*Mini Grand Supreme Winners

*Ultimate Beauty Grand Winners

Two winners will be chosen, one from the 0-6, and one from the 7-up age division. This is the highest Beauty Score in these age divisions. The winners will receive a trophy, Beautiful Crown, Sash, and nice gift.

*Division Supreme Winners

One queen/king will be chosen from each age division. Judging based on facial beauty, personality, poise, and eye contact. Winners will receive a trophy, Beautiful Crown, Sash, and a nice gift.

*Division Winners

One queen/king will be chosen from each age division. Judging based on facial beauty, personality, poise, and eye contact. Winners will receive a trophy, Beautiful Crown, Sash, and a nice gift. Future Queens and Kings will receive a tiara/crown, trophy, and a nice gift.

*Queen of Queen/King of King

The one person who refers the most contestants will become our Queen of Queen/King of King. This can be Doubled Crowned. The winner will receive a trophy, Beautiful Crown, Sash, and nice gift.

*Ms. Congeniality

This is the one contestant that exhibits sportsmanship, a fun attitude, and shows the ability of making friends. The winner receives a trophy, Beautiful Crown. Sash, & a gift.

This can be Doubled Crowned.

EVENTS

*Spokes Model/Interview

One winner per age division will receive a nice gift. Babies will be judged on personality. Contestants will be judged on personality and on stage presence. Contestant will walk up to the microphone and talk about themselves. Contestants will wear their beauty attire. This will be done before Beauty. Contestants that are 3 and under can have a parent come in with them for interview. Contestants that are 4-up do private interview with the judges.

*Beauty

Contestants can wear flower girl, Sunday best or prom dresses/gowns to compete in Beauty. Boys should wear Tuxedo, Sunday best, or an outfit suitable for a special event.

*Photogenic

One winner per age division receives a nice gift. Photos can be no larger than 8 ½ x 11 and may be black and white or colored. You can turn in up to 5 photos. They must be Natural Photos. Preferably a headshot. Please turn in your photos at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the back of the photo. Judges are looking for clarity and photogenic appeal.

*Composite

One winner per age division will receive a nice gift. 4 or more Natural photos on an 8 x 10 sheet. Please turn in your composite at the time of registration. A composite is a collection of your favorite natural photos put into a collage with your child’s name and stats. You can put many photos on a composite. Judges are looking for a variety, presentation, and photogenic appeal.

*Portfolio

One winner per age group will receive a nice gift. Please turn in your portfolio at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the back of the portfolio. This can be up to 12 Natural photos in book. They may be a combination of headshots, full length, black and white, color. Judges are looking for a variety, presentation, and photogenic appeal.

*Swimwear

One winner in each age division will receive a nice gift. Any type of Non-Glitzy swimwear may be worn. Can be custom made or off the rack. Boys must wear swimsuit. We will be providing music for this event.

*Casual Wear/Outfit of Choice

One winner per age division will win a nice gift. This can be off the rack or custom made clothing that can be worn in school, etc. NO-GLITZ. You can provide your own music. This can be Christmas Wear if you want.

Registration: Friday, Aug. 7, 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug.8, 7:00-9:00 a.m.

Competition: Sat.: Spokes Model/Interview 10:00 a.m.

Rules

**No Big Hair, Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Nails, Fake Eyelashes, are allowed. Age appropriate make up is allowed. Under the age of 10, there can be clear lip-gloss, clear mascara, light blush, very light eye shadow. For 10 years and older, light make up is allowed. Only what you would wear at school, etc.

ALL Money, and Deposits are Non-Refundable If you are unable to attend for any reason, you must let us know within two days before the pageant and your fees will be credited toward the next pageant. No exceptions.

** Judges Decisions are final!

** Sportsmanship is a must. Parents and guests who exhibit poor sportsmanship will be banned from the ballroom. If poor sportsmanship is exhibited by a contestant then they will be disqualified. No fees, ballroom entry, hotel room, or contestant fees will be returned.

** A contestant can compete as of their age of the day of the pageant or may move up one age group.

** All contestant information must be accurate. Please bring a proof of age with you at registration. Any misleading or false information may result in disqualification or loss of title. Contestant will then be liable to return any cash awards received.

** The stage will be a “T” formation with 3 x’s in the back and 1x in the front. The contestants will enter one side of the stage and exit the other side of the stage.

** You must be on time for your event. We will not wait. All events will start on time. Contestants who are late will receive a 1-point deduction.

** Registration will be Friday Aug.7 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00-9:00 a.m. Please turn in your photos, composite, and portfolio at this time. Make sure they are all labeled with contestants name and age.

** You may bring your own cameras and camcorders in to take your photos.

** Contestants photos may be used by Shining Stars Pageant Inc. for publicity purposes.

** The Ultimate Grand may not compete the following year. The winner may re-compete again in the Shining Stars Pageant system after their year of rein.

** Only family members and friends of contestants may enter the ballroom. For the safety of our contestants door admission badges must be worn by everyone entering the ballroom, including family and friends of the contestant. Door Badges will be available to purchase for everyone entering the ballroom, except the contestant himself/herself, all weekend long.

**Door Admission is $10.00 for everyone except the contestant.

** If paying by pay pal, a 4% surcharge must be added to your payment at diamonship2005@yahoo.com. No money orders or pay pal will be accepted after July 10. Only Cash is accepted at the door.

**The deadline for entering the national pageant is July 10. NO LATE ENTRIES.

** We will ONLY accept CASH at the pageant.

** Crowning will be do in Crowning Attire or Beauty Wear.

** FINAL RULE: Remember everyone is a winner!! Have fun and meet a new friend.
